Blank CD ^

You mean the cd inside the drive is blank? If so, that's normal, my DVD-RW drive shows the same when I insert a blank cd in it and it's a fully working drive (brand new too).

What'd you expect, blank CDs with files on them? Then they wouldn't be blank

Burn What? And, with what program are you trying to burn to the CD?

And, is this a CD-R or CD-RW? And, are you getting any kind of error messages?

A CD burner that won't burn is nothing new. I've got a huge pile of them in my storage closet.

If its been working fine and all of a sudden one day it doesn't.....then you just replace it and go on.

i said it was blank. windows media..

Windows won't correctly detect or burn blank media in my DVD+/-RW either; I have to use Nero. It should work with a CDR or CDRW though, especially if it's not a DVD drive.
