I just installed Warcraft III on my PC (it's not bootlegged). I'm running Windows Server 2003. And yes I have taken all the steps to make the server into a workstation. I only have one other game installed as of right now, which is Quake III. It runs beautifully. Now WC3, it installed fine, but when I open it, I get the intro blizzard thing, and I press mouse 1 to skip that. When I do that, it shows my taskbar, and I can see the program in the taskbar, but then it just shuts off. Just like that. Any idea what can be causing it?

Get the latest drivers for your Geforce FX 5600. Download the lastest patch for war craft 3.

I have the latest drivers, I'm about to get the patch now. Didn't even think of that. I'll post soon to let know whether it worked.

About the driver. I BELIEVE I have the latest Driver. Everything works right. I downloaded the latest thing I could find from Nvidia - 45.24_win2kxp. I think I'm using the XP driver. Would it make a difference to use the 2k driver? They need a driver for my card thats made for 2k3 But I'm getting the patch now.

Nope, that didn't fix it. Now when it brings me back to my destop, the contrast is really high and the only way to fix it is to restart. Any more ideas? Try 2k driver?

i have Warcraft 3 + Frozen Throne, runs perfect on win2k3,

try uninstalling the game, updating drivers (nvidia/directx) and installing again.

doubt it will help, but give it a try...

yes it did, i installed the expancion just a week ago

I uninstalled, reinstalled drivers/directx and reinstalled. Still not working. Grrrr.

Got it fixed. Just did a clean install of 2k3, everything runs perfect
