hi all! i just want to share this update breaks my install .... errors are about: shlwapi.dll ... i extracted the contents of IE6.0sp1-KB918899-Windows-2000-XP-v2-x86-ENU.exe & found out that shlwapi.dll exists ... attached are some screenshots ... without it, installation goes thru ... i'm not definite if i was able to put back the older version in my last run before leaving home but i suppose the older version would not present the same prob (as it worked in older builds) ... thanks!

The new IE6 update is for XP SP1, not SP2. That's your problem.

thanks the_guy! i kinda realized that a little late ... that was after i used my weekends creating the build & recreating the issues & the filename should say so ... he! he!
