Appwiz.cpl Problem.....Help appreciated

I don't know exactly what I did to cause this(usually it's me), but in the last week, the change/remove buttons are unavailable in the add/remove programs applet.

I also noticed that the list of windows xp updates is not there either.

Any Help is greatly appreciated.

Have you change any system files.

I don't think I changed any system files. I tried to do a system restore, but it wouldn't take.

I even tried 3 different dates.

Any suggestions.

I'd try a repair of Windows.

Boot from the CD, choose to install, accept the license agreement. And then press R for repairing the detected Windows installation

I've heard of this problem before. I also seem to recall seeing the solution to it at the site piaqt mentioned.
