Are there any adverse affects of doing this?

I've done it on my dvd/xvid encoding pc, and never had any problems are there any programs that moan if they can't find their preferred font?

nlite still keeps a lot of fonts

no i mean nlite doesnt work if you dont have tahoma installed (i think)
