ericnmu
First let me explain the problem.Programs that use special tool tips when hovered over, do not work.Example: I have a battery monitor for my laptop battery, and there is supposed to be a tooltip that comes up with details when hovered over. Nothing shows up.Another example, I have an id3 program installed which shows ID3 information from mp3's when I hover over the mp3. This does not work either. So it looks like any program that displays information in a tooltip when hovered over does not work. Both my laptop and desktop are experiencing this problem. I used an nlite build on both. Is there an option in nlite that could have disabled this feature? Thanks

ericnmu
Thanks for the fast reply bledd. That worked for my battery info display. But I am still not seeing hover over effects in Windows Explorer. This is what should come up when I hover over a mp3:Instead, nothing happens. Can you think of anything else? r3incarnat0r
You probably need to enable Info Tips. Just apply *.REG file with following content:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]"FolderContentsInfoTip"=dword:00000001"ShowInfoTip"=dword:00000001

ericnmu
Thanks r3incarnat0r, that worked like a charm. For the future, do you know what option in nlite caused this?
Camarade_Tux
There's something else, I don't remember what exactly.Check "Shell Media Handler" description. Edited August 19, 2006 by Camarade_Tux
r3incarnat0r
For the future, do you know what option in nlite caused this?Certainly, these two tweaks had to set it:Speed > Disable Info Tips on Files and FoldersTaskbar > Disable Balloon Tips(..if it wasn't anything else, as Camarade_Tux mentioned)
Camarade_Tux
After a 10 hours sleep, I recall better:"Shell Media Handler" is needed to provide media-specific infos : bitrate , format, artist, album, length...Without it, you will only get "format" (according to extension : a .avi can never be seen as a divx!), size (in KBs or MBs) and that's it.(not needed since you already have InfoTag Magic)"Disable Info Tips on Files and Folders" is exactly what you want."Disable Balloon Tips" will enable/disable the "tips" you get just above the windows taskbar.
