Oblivion

Im sure it probably could. Considering that Quake 4 and Doom 3 worked with the exe edits and now with the kernel patch instead of the direct edits to the game itself.

Both of those games required a minimum of 2K/XP .

edit: Doing a lil searchign over google right now. I've so far found screenshots of someone running oblivion through WINE in linux. So that might mean it's again possible to play oblivion on windows 98.

Best thing I could suggest is to give it a try on windows 98 first before converting them all.

.. Searching some more...

i was able to run Oblivion on Windows 98 + SP2.1 + KUP.

to run this game is necessary to use Kernel Update Project (KUP)

the game is very buggy, so it is hard to find what is causing errors i encountered. all i know is that you need to raise "Files" and "buffers" in your Config sys to maximum - then some bugs (mostly with sound) were supressed greatly, althought they didnt vanish completely. Maybe there is cause limit of windows 98 and limitless (or less limited) values for wXP

config sys:

files=255

buffers=99,8

Also i was able to run another wXP game - Prey. there were no serious bugs.
