Old/unreconized files error message when running O/S for first time

I got a message about old or unreconized files and needing the Windows install CD to replace these files when I ran the installed O/S for the first time. I click canel and the system seems to be ok for now, but I don't know if there are any surprises down the road. I only got the error box once when the desktop showed for the first time after the instalation.

Any ideas? Hope that made sense. This is XP Pro w/sp2 using most of the options in nLite (tweaks/services etc.)

It's due to enabled SFC file protection, don't be alarmed that's "normal".

If you don't care about SFC then disable it next time in Patches page but if you want to keep it then if that doesn't popup too often just click Cancel - Yes when prompted...at least right after setup.

I haven't read through all of the 'Beginners Guide' yet, but I didn't see anything on this which I am a little surprised.

It only showed once, when the destop appeared for the first time (I believe after all the data entry was completed).

I have the same thing pop up, what does SFC file protection do, besides obviously checking files? Will removing it pose a great risk to my system?

Here is the info:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/222193/EN-US/

But I always disable it, malicious code writers are aware of the SFC and they don't have a problem bypassing it...only good from it if you delete something by accident that it will return if from dllcache if it's there.

Also if you replace it by some older version but I don't see that happening since every installer checks that and prompts you if needed.
