Hello everyobody. This is my first post here, but lurking for a while now ;)

I made an unattended CD for myself with nLite. Everything runs great... except ONE thing :(

In the "DOS" part of the setup, where you get the choose the partition and drive where you want Windows to be installed, it never asks me what directory I want it in. I know it defaults to C:\Windows. My problem is, whenever I reinstall windows I always have the setup program overwrite the existing installation in "c:\windows". Now, it doesn't ask me anymore where I want to install it. After it's done installing it installs to C:\windows.0 or windows.1 etc.... which is so annoying. What can I do ? Should I take out the default c:\windows answer in the "answer file" ? Would that make the setup prompt me where I want to install and actually overwrite the installation in that folder if necessary ? Thanks for any ideas guys. :sneaky:

In WINNT.SIF, you don't specify the partition. TargetPath=\Windows is quite enough.

In the normal text-mode phase (it's got nothing to do with DOS), it asks you whether to delete the partition or not, but as far as I remember, it doesn't ask you which directory.

Having C:\windows.0 or windows.1 implies it's not deleting the existing partition.

Post the relevant section of your winnt.sif.
