Shindo_Hikaru
First things first, get access to the recovery console, slect repair XP, repari by console, then logon to your installation, (you will need your ADMIN PASS) then type in chkdsk /fIf that does not do it, prepare for a lenghty battle to fix, normally you will need your emergancy repai disk that you created or ARS (Automatic System Recovery) Disk (usually created at during your install or after). If you think you can do any of the following, your next and final choice is a format and reinstall.

Shindo_Hikaru
REcommend that you make a ASR and Emergancy Recovery Disk. It will help in the next troubleshooting.
GLO
Will have to do that from now on.What will that actually let me do though?and can it be installed on a USB Flash drive?
Takeshi
REcommend that you make a ASR and Emergancy Recovery Disk. It will help in the next troubleshooting. There's no ERD in WinXP, only Win2k.There's no ASR in WinXP HE, only XP Pro.Most people don't bother with ASR, but use an image for quick recovery.ASR saves something to a floppy but you need to run ntbackup first. You can still try the Use Last Good Config before doing anything else.EDIT: for typos. Aegis
The reason why it keeps restarting is because you have the option on for automatic reboot upon BSOD. I think there's an option to disable auto-restart from the F8 menu.

Shindo_Hikaru
Have you used any other programs to make the install disk (nlite, etc), and the cleaning of the case the componets may and may not help.I found in my experience that BIOSHard DrivecablesRAMcan cause this alot. I can't say specificlly what your cause, their is other reason and solutions. Recommend appling each members posts.
