I have a user who is experiencing a Slow and sometimes a timed out connection to shared public folder on one of our servers. I have accessed the same folder under my profile without issue as well as had the user log in on a different PC, to which he has no problem. I have verifed that he in the proper security groups to access and am able to ping the server in question from his workstation under his profile however can't seem to open the selected folders on the server without it timing out or having to wait 30 min. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

VBrown.

It's possible that the IP protocol stack has become corrupted. You could try, although I don't think it will do much, to run an adware scanner and see if cleaning that might help. Is the system slow all-around?

Thank you for the response...I recently performed virus scans and maintenance on this workstatin about 2 weeks ago...I will rescan as suggested, however the slow down/or time out only happens when trying to access that remote folder, which is why I can't pin it down to a hardware or Network issue.

That PC is otherwise OK? And other users, when logged into that PC, have no issues?

Sounds like you narrowed it down to his profile on a certain PC. Save his data and delete his profile folder on that PC.
