What files are needed for windows to communicate with the msn messenger webcam, now it only shows up a grey/white space and no picture =/ but my webcam software can display the picture.

As far as I know, just the Windows Image Acquisition Service. Even if you don't remove it, you can still disable it and have full functionality. I've tried it with MSN and Skype.
