hello

can we install drivers not in folder-incluging-.inf format, but drivers that are exucutables/self-extracting exe's ?

is it possible to integrate software apart from the available plugins ? to make them install after windows installation ?

thanks!

PS:I need this file to be run first, before drivers installation:

'UAA High Definition Audio class driver' kb835221.exe

it seems like a microsoft hotfix, but its not recognized as such while added as hotfix/patch in nlite

its not recognized because is doesnt display the info (bulletin url etc) as nlite does with other hotfixes

will it work?

can we add as hotfixes any exe's we want? the 'add hotfixes' section just suppose to mean that these files will be run first? (I havent checked the 'direct hotfix integration'

kb835221.exe for Realtek HD ONLY (no others) can be integrated via svcpack.inf or "kb835221.exe /Integrate:<path_to_source>" switch.

It does integrate in nlite, I use it. Not all cabs and exes display version etc info.

can you explain this a little more please? what do I have to do to intergrate it?

"an error occured while attempting to integrate this software update package, verify that the architecture, language, and service level of this software update are valid for the target distribution folder"

this means the kb835221.exe isnt considered a hotfix package, right?

can I just make nlite run it just after running the hotfixes and just before running the drivers?

You can probably add this file by hand but you should care about the error message : the hotfix will maybe simply refuse to install during setup.

On which OS do you want this to be installed ?

Which service pack ?

Which language ?

its xp home sp2, english language

I chose to install it manually to avoid complications

I found the post installation utility, but it didnt convince me its accurate and reliable enough
