ms_student Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I want to use group policy on Windows 2003 Server. In Active directory I created a new OU and under that I created a group policy. Here I am unable to allow user(s) to change their system’s date/time. Allocate quota for a share folder. Can someone please guide me how can I allow a user to change his computer’s date/time.Is there any step by step guide/white paper available for beginning users for Group policy? Thanks
valter Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Create a new GPO and navigate to Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Local Policies/User Rights Assignment there you will find settings "Change the system time" ... configure it by adding Domain Users user group .... close GPO and make sure to set No Override for this GPO ...You might also need to set some permissions on the registry key on the workstation (only if users still can not change their system time after applying new GPO using command gpupdate /force from CMD) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformationthe following permissions should be applied:Query ValueSet ValueCreate SubkeyEnumerate SubkeyNotifyRead ControlMore info can be found in the Microsoft KB article 300022
