ripken204 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 well u can enable mac address filtering and turn encryption on, that way its pretty much impossible to hack into
EAT MY DUST Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 ya I got my MAC filter on too,and the encryption is on too, with a hex code and stuff, I just want to physically disable it, maybe by removing a diode or resistor on the circut board. This thing gets hot as hell so it must be transmitting.
ripken204 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 well i know for my netgear router, i have the option" Enable Wireless Access Point"if i uncheck this then it stops tranmitting.you should have something similar to thishttp://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod...%20DI-614+_revB
EAT MY DUST Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 I have that disabled, but the WLAN light flash's like it's up to someting, it's not a regular beat, it mimmicks the other wan and lan idicators when downloading etc. Also the DB power adjustments dont stay put, when I set it to 25% it goes right back to 100% when I come back.Version 1.03• Added WPA and WPA-PSK support• Added Radio ON / OFF option on Wireless Page• Modified the Time page - Adding Local Computer Time Optionmaybe they didn't do a good job.....CHECK THIS OUT http://support.dlink.com/emulators/di514_revb/All these setting's won't change they all revert back to default........only SSID broacast can be changed.http://support.dlink.com/emulators/di514_r...dv_perform.html
EAT MY DUST Posted June 25, 2006 Author Posted June 25, 2006 wow had some funky stuff with my router. It keeps resetting itself when I change certain sections, my back-ups were weak too, ended up resetting it and re-programming it all.......I think it's mad at me
Zxian Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Maybe reflashing the BIOS and clearing all settings to factory defaults might be a good idea. After that, you can go ahead and see if you can set your settings accordingly.
