shorty0214 Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 I'm looking for a good backup program that supports shadow copy. I currently use the one that comes with WinXP, but I'd like a better one, with the ability to save my jobs so I can import them back after a format.ThanksMartin
shorty0214 Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 I don't want an image of my disk... I just want to backup some important files.
IcemanND Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 why not use robocopy? it's free and pretty fast.I'm not sure how it is you want you backup software to support shadow copy.
shorty0214 Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 I want it to backup files even if they're in use.
allen2 Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 (edited) Ntbackup natively in XP can do all what you need. You can create a selection and save it for further usage. It can save open files. If you need something more professional, you can buy Symantec Backup Exec and an advanced open file license. The trial version 10d is fully functionnal for at least 30 days. Edited June 22, 2006 by allen2
Zxian Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 SyncBack is another possible choice. It's what I'm using right now. I was using Allway Sync, but their freeware licence is only valid for "moderate" use (less than 20,000 files in a month ).SyncBack makes the selections easy, and can be scheduled with great ease.
