I've chosen to run Apache

How do I get PHP and mysql to work under Apache? I cant seem to work it out. The instructions are in jibberish, and cant seem to follow it. I mean technical , and its not really that clear. I would use IIS, but it doesnt work on my system.

How about trying to install a server package similar to "the uniform server"

A lot easier!

there is an easy php installer (that can auto configure php to work in apache 1.3x and 2.0x

there ar also many apache + php packages.

some also come with mysql and phpmyadmin (for database management).

Just go and install xampp. It's a simple all in one package that will have you up and running in no time flat.

It's what I'm running at home - http://zxian.dyndns.org.
