Wijono Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 ewido anti-malware seems to be a very good anti trojan software.Unfortunately it is meant only for following OS: Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server, as such not for Win98SE.Does anyone know a trick to install it under Win98SE?Any suggestion other than Ad-Aware and Spybot? Those are also good and I use them, but ewido seems to catch more malware.
Andromeda43 Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 More and more programs are written to only work on a dirivitive of Windows NT.You can do nothing about it....or to circumvent it. That's just the way it is.Keep your AdAware SE/Personal and Spybot S&D up to date at lease several times a week and do a scan every time you get an update. This will help you a lot.Don't forget to Immunize every time you get updates for Spybot.Good Luck,Andromeda43 B)

Wijono Posted June 20, 2006 Author Posted June 20, 2006 Thank you all guys for the information.I am highly impressed by the ewido. It is pity that we cannot tweak it to run under Win98SE, I thought it might be possible with some sort of Kernel patch.

Wijono Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 Thanks to MDGx for your comprehensive information. There are so many options out there…Based on your experience though, could you perhaps recommend which one is your preference for Win98SE that is possibly similar or close to ewido?
