To Restore Flickering Desktop

my frnd changed the desktop resolution along with refresh rate

as advised by a DVD player app.

but then he cant accs the desktop , its flickering

so what 2 do ?

does any registry change (in safe mode) will work to restore the desktop ???

safe mode should be ok to reset the settings

no it doesnt

safemode starts in 640x480 mode with default refresh

bt when return to normal mode the refresh freq is restored to back ( ie the flickering)

If this is windows xp, try starting in VGA mode, then as soon as you login change the video settings back and reboot.

if its windows 98, change the video settings back in safe mode, then reboot.

also, avoid haveing the monitor on for long with it flickering, it can damage it.
