hi!

would there be a way via HFSLIP (svcpack or runonce) to install the recovery console?

i always have to execute it via run once the OS has completed it's install:

x:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons

i would love to have this executed regardless of the drive letter of optical drive so i could use the installer in other pcs as well.

your assistance would be really appreciated. :)

At this point, you can maybe manually edit HFSLIP.CMD though I don't know if it'll work that early.

Insert the following:

%HFSLIP%\winnt32.exe /cmdcons /unattend

somewhere between the line with D E F... and the line with EXIT.

What about calling this recon.cmd

@START "" /W %~d0\I386\WINNT32 /CMDCONS /UNATTEND

and putting it in \HFSVPK I was under the impression that the command doesn't work before normal setup has finished so I have no idea whether this will work.

Yzöwl ... glad to hear from you ... thanks for this sir! :)

i'll try this too ...

& yup ... basing it on winnt32.exe switches, it only works after full OS installation ...

hope Tomcat's & your advice would work ...

sirs, any chance we could include this in HFSLIP's capabilities? :)

thanks! thanks!

hi! i just want to report that i believe installing recovery console was a success ... i saw it install (just like the normal way when doing it after successful OS installation) at T-13 ... the option for recovery console during boot is already there ... accessing recovery console & trying out some commands were successful too ...

i tried recon.cmd 1st since it would be easier to take out in case... i modified it a bit by though by making the "\winnt32" portion to "\winnt32.exe" ... please advice though if not necessary

i was kinda apprehensive about meddling w/ HFSLIP.cmd as i might insert the line incorrectly ... he! he! :)

really ... thanks much Tomcat & Yzöwl! :)

If it works at T-13 then I'll add it... It will be an option in HFANSWER.INI.

It doesn't matter whether you use "winnt32" or "winnt32.exe"; the right file will be found... :)

... and putting it in \HFSVPK
