Can I slipstream stream this two tools into my windows install

Recommended Posts

Why would you want to, they are both the biggest piles of crap ever. Extremely annoying and degrade performance when playing games.

It seems to me that the majority of people using unattended installations work in the IT field and use it when setting up new boxes (at least thats what I use it for), so the game performace issue wouldn't be much of a problem. If anyone does know how to do this however, I would also like to know. The Genuine Advantage hotfixes take the longest when getting the newest updates

does anyone know where i can find

Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)

Try http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdo...982dcea49a0.exe

I don't remember how I found that, but I do remember it was from the windows update site after poking around in there a bit. I thought it might be a handy URL to have so I saved it  It seems Microsoft tries their best to keep you from getting it.

clivebuckwheat i know this post is old but this is the only post i could find about this and i though i would update it with a way to download these files.

If you run Windows Update or Microsoft update on a PC then look at the c:\WINDOWS\WindowsUpdate.log file you will find all the links to the KB artical files that you need.

For example the two links below are for the requested downloads, the links are from the WindowsUpdate.log file.

Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)

http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdo...4e87cca5ecf.exe

Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474)

http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdo...7ba821a852f.exe

This is usfull because these downloads and others can't be downloaded from Windows Update Catalog and are often updated.

Hope this helps.
