Hey all,

I just purchased parts for a new PC, including the following:

Biostar Socket AM2 mobo here

and an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Socket AM2 processor.

here

Now, I went ahead and ordered Windows XP Professional x64 Edition...was this a mistake? I don't want to have to fight to play the occasional game (I ordered Medal of Honor: Pacific Assult so far), and /I may be gaming a lot over the summer. I'm worried that x64 will give me trouble, but I was under the impression that it wouldn't be as fast as it should with my hardware if I didn't get x64 windows...was I wrong?

Thanks for the help!

it seams there are quite a lot of games that either dont, ore work poorly on a x64 windows version but others work great.

imho first look at your game -

@google = "my game" + xp64

if you find anything try that, first or otherwise just try to install and run it as usual, (your game would most likely be auto installed to

*c:\program files (x86)*

if that doesn't work try to run it in copatibility-mode with for example win xp or win 2k modus ....

and finaly if that doesn't work try a multiboot setup (of find yourself a dif game to play).

well the desk top and every thing else works and looks great ...just games that do it

Try to update your graphics drivers. Also look at the temps while in games.
