dancity
Hey people, its been ages sincei posted in here, but thats life. Anyway I have a problem with my XP operating system. I just installed the Internet Information Services so i can do a test installation of a forum package. This way I can do test of released mods and stuff on the local server on my p.cThe problem is that it wont load the test site http://127.0.0.1/ it keeps on cannot find server. The Site is turned on via the IIS control panels and I have looked at the dependencies that i needs to run in the Services control panel. Everything seems fine there. What could be the issue here?I am RunningWindows XP Service Pack 1 512MB ram, 60G HDD. Pentium 4 - 1.7GIGHits.Title edited -- Please, use [TAGS] in your topic's title.--Sonic
Sonic
Have you got a third-party firewall ?Check if webserver is really active with that command from cmd prompt netstat -an | find "LISTENING" and check if :80 if listening.Make sure you havn't any other program listen the port 80. (Like yahoo messenger for example.)
LiquidHonesty
Yeah, check what Sonic said first. Also make sure you have files in the root web folder, and you have a default file picked (or directory browsing turned on). AND of course make sure the service is started. All I'm sure you've tried but just gotta ask.

XP_2600
It could be, try to disable them and try, if its didnt work too, check the NTFS permissions in your web site directory, and check anonymous access in your IIS.
