2confused Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Let me begin by saying I am not very computer savy. I have Office XP Prof 2002 and am the administrator. I installed a game for my children to play but when they try to play if gives a message that states they must have administrator rights to play. The only way they can play is if I sign on. I want them to be able to play using their own user account. HELP!!
2confused Posted May 24, 2006 Author Posted May 24, 2006 becuse they are children and I do not want them to have that access.
Mini123 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 When you say access do you mean access to your files?
2confused Posted May 24, 2006 Author Posted May 24, 2006 i mean that their user must be set up the same as mine...as an administrator
2confused Posted May 24, 2006 Author Posted May 24, 2006 Age of Mythology. According to everything I've read...the administrator ( that's me) is the only one that load software but everyone should be able to access.

You should be able to make them ordinary Users or Power Users and it should work.ALSO, on your account, mess with something called Set Program Access and Defaults. Usually on the startmenu but can also be found in Add/Remove Programs in the control panel.
firefoxthebomb Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 it may be as simple as giving access to the folder where this game is installed, log on as yourself and then go to the folder, rightclick and do properties, then go to the permissions tab, and add the user you want to have access to that folder.
Mini123 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 This would only work if you have Simple File Sharing switched offTools > Folder Options > Use Simple File Sharing (Uncheck)
