windows live messenger keeps disconnecting

Since the last update of windows live messenger, I keep disconnecting and reconnecting on msn to the point where it's so annoying to people on my contact list that some have deleted me.

This is intolerable and I just don't know what to do to fix this. Although posting this on some msn forum would maybe be better I just don't hang around there and I'm sure someone nice here will have some tips.
