alternative way of reducing the size of office 2003 setup files

hello friends

there's something which i find very bright idea on my mind. as you know MS office consist of some parts like word excell powerpoint etc. but i dont want to install all these parts. of course i know how to to this by means of *.ops or *.mts files but what i wanna do is prepare a new setup file consisting of only the parts i want to install, not the other parts like outlook frontpage etc. in this case i will be able to reduce the size of setup files.

do you know any method to do this ? if so pls help me show a link a web site whatever its is.

hi friend i know office shrinker. but i cannot choose which components to install by means of it. it prepares an instant setup consist of previously determined parts. so i decided to search another way. and also i would like to do it manually.

so you what have done :

1. creating and custom install (.mst)

2. select what component what to install and not

3. use office shrinker

4. got shrinked file

5. use 7zip or Winrar to compress it and cab it

anyway there are a tool called removal component (if i correct) in office resource kit

darksimoon: you have misunderstand, office shrinker ... You choose exactly what components you want. Re-read fully the guide.
