Local settings folder - change properties?

The local settings folder is hidden by default, but when I change its properties so as it's shown, it remains visible until I reboot, then goes back to being hidden again. Is there any way to make it permanently visible? I know it'll only save a few clicks, but hey, they must add up.... :)

Yeah, but it's so messy like that..... Thats the thing, it's the only hidden folder I use regularly, I have "show all..." set to off, but I'd like to have that folder available at all times. Is there a way to override/change the properties of a system folder, or am I just stuck with it?

Ahh, hang on, it's microsoft, yeah, I'm probably stuck with it then.. :)
