tal ormanda Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 When i turn on my computer each time Windows Firewall gets set to off each time. Why?
cluberti Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Is the ICF/Firewall service set to disabled or manual? If the service isn't running, your firewall won't be either.
Glen Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Start -> Run -> services.mscRight-click on "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)", go to Properties and change "startup type" to Automatic.
cluberti Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 If it is running, you should see the firewall enabled. When you start the computer, is the service running? If so, what is the firewall set to at that point?
Lus Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 (edited) i think zone will disable windows native firewall automaticlly ?installing more than 1 firewall in same windows is not recommended.see zone documents for more help. Edited April 19, 2006 by Lus
Synapse Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 looks like pretty much all firewall software disables the Windows Firewall. I use Outpost and never once touched my ICF settings and its set to "Off".and as mentioned by Lus, installing more then 1 firewall on 1 O/S isn't recommended.
