puffinpanda Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 hi therei am trying to convert AVI files to DVD. I am using ConvertXtoDvd, and it has been working fine. Now all of the sudden it freezes my entire system in the middle of converting. it has no threshold of when it will freeze, it has frozen at 12 % 30% 80% etc. so, i uninstalled the program, deleted the keys that it had in the registry, and restarted my computer. i reinstalled the program, but still get the same problem. i thought it might a glitch in the program, so i again uninstalled. i borrowed a program from a friend to try, Xilisoft, and i still have the same problem, completely freezes my computer to the point that i have to shut it down and restart. i am running windows XP, and i have PC-cillin antivirus & internet security. i am also running systemsuite 6. i have done spyware scans up to the hilt, and antivirus scans as well. i have even wiped my system and put a clean install of XP. I am confused as to what would cause two different converting softwares to freeze up my computer, when all the other programs i run are working fine.can somebody please help methanks Puff
EchoNoise Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Why not use..t@b Media Encoder to convert from avi to mpgand then use...DVDAuthor to create it into a dvd
zeko Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 have you checked the installed codecs? some may be incompatible with you hardware.
