[LAN] Network between laptop and desktop pc

Featured Replies

Hi:

Just wanted to know If you guys can bring any help. I've been looking for weeks a solution about this problem i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.

I got a Desktop PC, with a 256kbps DSL connection. This DSL connection it's wired with a ethernet cable going from the modem to my Desktop PC (ethernet card). I recently purchased a Linksys Wireless Router to give internet access to my laptop. So, the DSL modem is connected to my router and then giving me internet access to my laptop and the Desktop PC as well.

The thing is that I've been trying to setup a network between the two to share some files. I looked at the Control Panel, Network Wizard, and what not. But still not sure about where to go and set this thing up.

Thanks in advance for any data you guys can provide.

DeadPixel :)

Is the internet working on both machines?

Yes, perfectly.

Have you shared the resources?

I have no idea how to do that.

Are the machines in the same ip class and same workgroup?

Same answer in ? #2.
