i know the disk is bootable because i install xp on my other systems but on this one after i thin anykey it either stuck on a black screen or it will go to a checking hardware configuration and then into a black blank screen i never see the blue familer screen of the setup

Does this only happen with the Windows XP CD? Have you tried earlier versions of Windows to see if they boot into the blue text-mode setup?

When I had a hard drive go bad on me, my XP CD did the same thing. I removed the hard drive I wasn't booting from and tried it again and it worked. If you have multiple hard drives, try unplugging one. If not, try unplugging your drive and seeing if it will boot off the CD.
