ripken204 Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 while im playing a game i would like to be able to change the volume but the only way to do that is to minimize the game and use the volume icon in the taskbar. is there a way to set a hotkey to adjust the volume?
Gouki Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 There is one application that is free and open source. It is used to make Hotkeys, however, I do not know if it is able to control Volume. Still, it is a very good and usefull application.Give it a try.qliner
ripken204 Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 also, where is the registry key for a program that i added a keyobard shortcut to?
Gouki Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 I have no idea. Are you sure this application uses Registry keys on the shortcuts you make with it?I would recommend asking on their forums or use Regmon to see what changes are made after making a new shortcut with qliner hotkeys.
ripken204 Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 well i found something i made with autoit a while back. one of the files raises the volume and the other lowers it, but something got messed up and now when i set a hotkey noting happens. i havnt tried that program yet
Gouki Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 You should try it. I have been reading the page I gave you, and that application does support volume control. From what I could understand, all you need to do is install an addtional plugin.Volume ControlThis add-in allows you to instantly modify the audio volume. Default configuration: * Win - Page Up: volume up * Win - Page Down: volume down * Win - End: toggle mute on / offTips: * Hold the Windows key down, while repeatedly tapping the page up or down key. * You can reposition the volume control by dragging it around with the mouse. * You can customize the volume control by right clicking it (size, color, opaciy, date, etc.)I recommend going with it.
ripken204 Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 well i found my problem, shortcuts can only be ran from the desktop...and im find now, btw that program is sweet
LLXX Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 You can't just reach for the volume knob on your speakers and turn that?
HyperHacker Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Or get a keyboard with a volume control on it. Windows should recognize most of the extra buttons without any drivers.
