BigDaddy Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 on W2k3 server have a problem with PEERGUARDIAN. It just wont shut down. And from task manager I am unable to force fully kill PG2.EXEBecause nothing happens when I do it.Any other ways of killing it??
Scubar Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 havent used pg in a while now but it could be that the driver has locked up, try running the fix driver thing that comes with it. also it might install itself as a service in which case u will have to end the service in order to close it.

And the FIX drivers just says that it is unable to terminate it.
Dels Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 is that a service? or maybe a file running by system?anyway try Process Explorer, it can close most apps
cluberti Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Pskill from sysinternals is a good kill utility as well.
fdv Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Only for extreme cases......if none of that works, note the location of the executable, download Knoppix, boot up with it, and delete the file manually from there. I'd normally also recommend a BartPE disk, but in many cases, since BartPE uses WinXP or 2k3, whatever file XP won't allow to be deleted on the C: drive, XP running on the BartPE will usually not allow to be deleted, either.
