About Connection

hello everyone .

i would like to ask about my network connections.

here is how the problems is,i have one laptop which i connect it with a LAN cable to a modem with router,everytime i open my laptop there is no connectivity in my laptop,it appear "limited or no connectivity...""

Actually what is the problem and is there any solutions??

One more thing i would like to ask.

How to create a small home network,i have connected both my PC and laptop but when i open "My Network Place" it appear that my PC and Laptop are not connected and i can't transfer files from my laptop to my PC..

Please show me the way to create a small home network,and please do upload some picture so that i may see it more detaily.

on one of the computers, set up a home network, then make sure they are on the same work gruop
