playahater Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I have been google-ing and haven`t been able to find drivers for nfroce2 chipset and ati radeon graphic cards .. infact .. i haven`t been able to faind any information about that .. Anyone has an idea how to solve this ?Can i install nforce2 and ati drivers for XP on Server 2003 ?? .. Is that going to work?
cluberti Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 If they are WHQL drivers for XP, they'll usually work on 2K3 machines. If the drivers for XP are not WHQL, it's a crapshoot if they'll work or not (but you can always try ).
Lemonzest Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 (edited) I'm on a nForce3 platform, and i just use most of the drivers for the nForce4 boards (as of writing this, version 6.70) and the gart driver is included in windows 2003i slipstream all the xp drivers, and the ati catalyst 6.3 drivers into my main install disk using nLite (windows 2003 R2 Ent) and it all works greathope that helps, if not pm for more details. Thunderbolt 2864 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 If your using a 64 bit version of 2003, make sure your Radeon card is above 9500, and use the 64 bit XP driver. Worked for me. If your using the x86 version of 2003, then use the normal Windows XP drivers. However, I couldn't get that Catalyst Control Center to work though, (Don't care because I don't like it, made my computer more slow) though the video driver worked.
BigDaddy Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 My WIN2k3 has the following:ASUS A7n8x NFORCE2 >using XP drivers for NFORCE3NVIDIA TNT2 >using windows driversAnd the server is rock solid. Only the onboard NIC gave me some BSODS when transfering files to client PCs. So I've configured the onboard NIC to be for ADSL and the 3COM 100MBIT NIC for file transfers to client PCs
