LLXX Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Download the *full version* of IE6 from the Microsoft site and try installing that. The downloading-installer sometimes doesn't work properly.

The downloading-installer sometimes doesn't work properly.OR better yet download the FULL IE 6.0 SP1 browser at one of these sites:http://tucows.iinet.com.au/pub/microsoft/i...sp1/ie60sp1.exehttp://ftp.up.ac.za/pub/windows/microsoft/...sp1/ie60sp1.exeit's an 80 Meg download so if you are using a dialup connection, use a third party download manager to download and resume file transfers. once you get this massive download, extract all the files inside to a temp folder and run the ie6setup.exe file from that folder to install IE 6 SP1.
LLXX Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I prefer downloading from Microsoft, since they seem to have much faster servers. I've gotten over 11MB/s downloading from them.
erpdude8 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 update on IE6 setup: Microsoft has revised the IE6 setup installer - download the updated installer here:http://download.microsoft.com/download/ie6...US/ie6setup.exeIt contains newer version of ie6wzd.exe file. Also revised is the VGX.CAB file which includes the updated VGX.DLL file that fixes the security flaw mentioned in MS security bulletin MS04-028 and MS KB article 833989http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/MS04-028.mspxhttp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=833989Direct URL to get the VGX.CAB file:http://download.microsoft.com/download/ie6...P/EN-US/vgx.cab
