army20 Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 How do I tell which version of windows XP Pro my product key is for (VLK , OEM , RETAIL) ?I got a brand new IBM T40 with an original product key on a sticker on the laptop which I belive was for OEM but when I enter it, windows setup tell me my product key is invalid.-armyP.S. Too many result when trying to search in the forums for an answer.

CptMurphy Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 For OEM keys you have to use the OS CD provided by your manufacturer. It wont work with other types of windows xp.
