chochet Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I just downloaded a copy of a Windows 98 SE CD-ROM. It was packed as a .rar file, so i just unpacked it and put it on a CD. I put the CD i recently burned in the computer and then restart it. But it doesn't show anything to the screen, it only says "Reading CD-ROM drive" and then it continues to windows. Why is that?How do I make it bootable?
mcgr75 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 you need to either a) use a bootable floopy to load to dos, and run setup.exe from there rob)add a boot image file to a new cd with 98 se on itif you go to http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm and then click on any of the 98 files, any will help youHTHTony
LLXX Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 What was in the RAR? Was it an ISO?I think you burned the ISO itself as a file on the CD instead of as a CD-image itself.
