REBELinBLUE Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I had IE 7 Beta 2 installed, and then installed XPize. From then on IE stopped working (clicking favourites, entering addresses etc does nothing) uninstalling both XPize and IE 7 does not fix the problem.Does anyone know what I can do to fix this, short of reinstalling Windows as I have only just finished that and really don't want to do that again.
XPero Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 IE 7 not compatible with XPize. Uninstall IE 7. And please search, this has been discussed.
REBELinBLUE Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 (edited) As I already said, I uninstalled both XPize and IE 7 but that didn't work. I did search but all I found was topics saying not to use IE 7, nothing on how to fix an issue. Which is a bit late now, after I have the problem. If upgraded system software is going to cause problems, maybe you should add a check for system files versions before trying to "XPize" them Edited March 3, 2006 by REBELinBLUE
chopyaedoff Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 It worked with me - the only disadvantage is that the icon is IE6 instead of IE7.
REBELinBLUE Posted March 4, 2006 Author Posted March 4, 2006 yeah see, that is what I don't get. It works fine on this computer, and on that computer previously.Anyway I gave up and reformatted again. I'll just wait until IE 7 is final before reinstalling it on that machine.
