What files are these? Which programmes is creating them?

Need help with -

infected.dat

pending.dat

and those many .sqm file!!!

What are they and are they safe for deletion?

The sqm files are operation flashpoint files, at least according to http://filext.com. Run a full virus scan on the harddrive. Afterwards, run CWshredder, and then HijackThis. Lastly, run some type of ad-ware scanner like spybot, or ad-aware.
