Crusty01 Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 There's just alot of files in there...which ones are required? This is my dir listing for this update:Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x64.cabApr2005_d3dx9_25_x86.cabAug2005_d3dx9_27_x64.cabAug2005_d3dx9_27_x86.cabBDA.cabBDANT.cabBDAXP.cabDec2005_d3dx9_28_x64.cabDec2005_d3dx9_28_x86.cabDirectX.cabDSETUP.dlldsetup32.dlldxdllreg_x86.cabdxnt.cabDXSETUP.exedxupdate.cabFeb2005_d3dx9_24_x64.cabFeb2005_d3dx9_24_x86.cabFeb2006_d3dx9_29_x64.cabFeb2006_d3dx9_29_x86.cabFeb2006_MDX1_x86.cabFeb2006_MDX1_x86_Archive.cabFeb2006_xact_x64.cabFeb2006_xact_x86.cabJun2005_d3dx9_26_x64.cabJun2005_d3dx9_26_x86.cabOct2005_xinput_x64.cabOct2005_xinput_x86.cabIt's pretty obvious that there are files for x86 and x64 platforms, but i just want to know which files to use for w2k.
Sonic Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 dxsetup.exe auto-detect your actual version and install just needed components like missing newest dlls. Of course if no DX9 present it will install DX9.0c full.Goodbye.
ajua Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 as i said before, just run DXSETUP.EXE with /silent switch.if you want to try to delete some files maybe you can delete x64 wich re for 64bit windows. im not sure of this as i dont have any concern on the size of my ua dvd so i keept them all.
redanimalwar Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 is it a update for 9.c ???do i need it with sp2 ?
Sonic Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 If you're a "gamer", you know last titles require latest dx9c. Now Microsoft publish updates to dx9c, so you need these updates if you play, if you don't install these updates, the setup of the game will do, and if you game is already installed and no latest dx9c updates, you have an error about dll missing.
ajua Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 exactly, there are updates from month to month (usually each 2 months) updates of directx 9.0c files. the only reason to install them is if you use to play new games or use appz that requires you to have latest updates of directx.
