I have an LCD with built in speakers. If i add speakers, will the sound be louder, likes watching movies, or there won't be a difference?

There will be a difference if you add larger and better quality speakers. What exactly are you trying to do?

But in general standalone speakers are louder than built-in ones since they're usually bigger and more powerful.

get yourself some nice Logitech or Creative speakers, (personal choice)...also what sound card you got? If you got a 5.1 compatible soudn card, you can get 5.1 surround speakers, then you will notice a BIG difference in movies!

I'm having a hard time listening to movies, eventhough I have the volume to max.

I have built-in sound card. I only need 2.1 speakers, I don't want 5.

there nice little speakers, you will get some nice sound out of them, but if you wanna spend just a lil more you can go for:

which are more powerful.

obviously you dont wanna spend to much, so these would be ideal
