is there any way to force te remote desktop client to use a proxy? if so pls tell me how

or if you can tell me alternative client that allows remote login _before_ anyone has logged in localy (vnc's service doesnt start until someone has logged in :/)

The version of vnc that I use is tightVNC and when it installs it installs as a service and starts when the computer starts. maybe check out that version

Have you tried useing the 2003 server admin pack for xp??? Your can get a slew of tools.... i use the "remote desktop connections" all the time to manage my 60+ machines.... no one has to be logged in , and if they are i can choose to kick them off...

remote desktop client allows to connect before any login, but i want to use it thru proxy (@work, etc.), and there's no way to supply one :/ that's why i asked the first question

So, you want a remote desktop for your "home" to "work"??? Am i understanding you correctly??? Is for setup a VPN connections so you are on the "work" network, then use remote desktop... that is what i do....
