What is this file and what does it have to do with the fact my paint isnt working? sorry im not too good with the technical side of computers only know a few basic things to get me by.
blinkdt Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Yes, I think you might have visited the wrong forum to solve your problem, Samurai Princess, but since you are here at MSFN:Does Paint open if you click Start --> Run and type "mspaint" (without the quotes) and hit enter? If so, you may simply be missing a shortcut to the program found in the WINDOWS\System32 directory. Recreate the shortcut and you are good to go. If someone has actually REMOVED mspaint.exe from your machine, then you will need to get your hands on a disc to reinstall this Windows accessory. Ditto with WordPad and Calculator (Start --> Run --> wordpad and Start --> Run --> calc).
samurai_princess Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 What if i cant get hold of a disc? They are all completely gone off my computer. Is there anyway i can download them off a torrent site or anywhere else if anyone knows somewhere could you please post the link. Thanks
ajua Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 if you cant get a disc right now use alternatives to those programs instead. try paint.net wich is a great program for graphics. for wordpad rtf files you can open them in word or any other text processor. and im sure you will find thousands of calculators if you search for them.for a text processor download openoffice wich is free and support office documents.if this isnt enough and you want calc, mspaint and workpad. just get a windows disk and install them.
blinkdt Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 What if i cant get hold of a disc? You're kidding, right? Ask around, someone you know has a disc.
