Tomcat76 Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 (edited) If the SOURCE was already patched, then HFSLIP will ignore the Service Pack in the HFSPACK folder. In the case of Win2K3, HFSLIP searches for an SP CAB file in the SOURCE\I386 folder to determine whether a source is patched or not. Edited March 28, 2006 by Tomcat76
danod Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Well, I've run with the serice pack in HFSPACK and having been removed altogether ( except for having been expanded into the original source). No variation seems to have affected the result - reboots after registration into Windows splash screen and then ... windows is restarting set up.I'll start this process from scratch. I must have poisoned it somehow. This time I'll let HFSLIP do the service pack in the first place.
Tomcat76 Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 (edited) I don't know if you're interested, but I got a page going with updates for Win2K3. The link is in my signature. There are direct download links to all hotfixes (English version) except those which are WGA protected. Edited March 28, 2006 by Tomcat76
danod Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Walked away from this for a while then started from scratch. Not a hitch this time through. Nor a clue as to what was wrong before.I want to thank you guys for your help and for a great job on HFSLIP
