CompDoc Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 I received this popup box when trying to install XP Pro on a new machine after creating an HFSLIP CDError:The signature for Windows XP Professional Setup is invalid. The error code is 80096001.A system-level error occurred while verifying trust.***Fatal Error:Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain more information.***I have attached a Zip containing the HFSLIP Error_Report.txt as well as the setup???.log files from the new PC (I did a Shift -F10 on the install popup and copied the files to a floppy to get them)Install_Error.zip
tommyp Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Sounds to me like you're trying to slipstream the incorrect fixes (like putting an xpsp1 hotfix in your xpsp2 source). You may want to revisit the stickied links on the top of this board to put the right files in the right place. After reviewing your error_report, it's quite evident that there's some unneeded files there.
CompDoc Posted February 6, 2006 Author Posted February 6, 2006 All HotFixes are listed in the XP SP2 sticky. The only unneeded files are in the HFTOOLS directory and that is because MR. Vorck's page lists boot.bin while your page lists boot.img.
Tomcat76 Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 HFSLIP is using boot.img for CDIMAGE and boot.bin for mkisofs. I suppose this could be changed to boot.bin for both programs since CDIMAGE supports both types. Also, bbie outputs bin files so it'll only make things easier.
