jondercik Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 nope. USB is Plug and Play and PNP is not supported in NT 4.
cluberti Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 There are third-party applications that add USB support to NT4, but you take your machine in your hands, so to speak, when you do that .http://store.bsquare.com/catalog/index.cfm...g&parent_id=127
Chamz5 Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Does WinNT support USB pendrive?I installed it freshly and updated to SP4 but if i plug it into usb port WinNt doesn't seem to recognize it.It's a SanDisk Cruzer Mini of 256 MB.G'day! After much searching I have found a solution that works for me its a program (exe file) developed by Dell that enables the use of low powered USB divices on windows NT systems.I am using a pen drive/memory stick with no problems....If there are any drawbacks, it's that the USB device must be formatted as FAT only (not even FAT32).This seem to be ok, as I can use the device with both of my machines, NT & XP.....Hope this helps someone!Oh, & make sure you have at least SP6 installed!NT SP6aHere's the link for the USB Driver,Dell USB Driver For NTChamz5
nmX.Memnoch Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 If there are any drawbacks, it's that the USB device must be formatted as FAT only (not even FAT32).That's because NT4 doesn't natively support FAT32.
