More detail in Add/Remove programs?

Is there a way I could edit the entry in 'Add/Remove Programs' to have a little more info? (besides "HFSLIP Total Slipstream") At least for the versions that leave IE in, its completely invisible with FDV's

Basically I just want it to list all the files in Error Report.txt, for my own reference mostly but also for other users to know. A 'click for details' of sorts.

A few people tend to assume that after a W2k install they have to download a few dozen patches, and yesterday someone tried to convince me the install was bad since they "couldn't update it"

Better yet, is there a way I could have this all done during install? B)

I know I could just park the TXT on the desktop and rename it 'list of integrated hotfixes' but I'm looking for something more elegant and integrated. More tangible than just windows update not wanting to install anything...

It's possible, but there's a few limitations...

1) If you want this integrated into the HFSLIP program, one more question needs to be asked in the beginning so that people who DON'T want to populate the Add/Remove Programs list are still catered to.

2) If you want descriptive titles, it will be dependant on updates whenever a new hotfix is released, and these need to be found out for every language these hotfixes exist in.

3) If you want this done by me (hehe)... I can do this by checking which files are in the various folders and then output a generic title like "HFSLIP Total Slipstream - KB912919" or "HFSLIP Total Slipstream - Internet Explorer 6" if corresponding installation files exist, but, as you can guess, this also depends on updates whenever a new hotfix is released. The reason of this limitation is because I don't know how to work with the existing file names through a script (to make the script "automated", the hotfix file names need to be outputted in a text file, then the text file needs to be edited so only the KB number remains for each hotfix -- and then I'm not even mentioning removing the language indicator).

I was thinking more basic, basically just pulling the exact list from error report.txt when they "click here for support information" (most of MS's stuff opens a little html window, if I could clone that look it would be nice)

Even if I had to craft that info page myself for each hfslip iso, as long as it gets preinstalled its fine with me. (FIX folder, or reg.reg or ?) Actually that might be more fun, I could personalize it a bit. I just don't know how

I dont think itemizing every hotfix with its own selection would be needed, esp since theres no remove option for idiots to mess up. (#$%@#$%#$ programs that expect admin privs) Plus less clutter = good.

I dont think the 'a little knowledge is more dangerous than no knowledge' had a clue in 2003
