Computer-Pro
Is there a way to change the system folder? I accedentaly installed windows without formating the drive first. So windows was installed in "WINDOWS.0" I would like to change it to: "WINDOWS"How can I do that without causing problems? Thanks!
Sonic
hum ... I think it's not possible with clean method.Perhaps you can test this (but not recommended before a ghost backup ^^)Boot from a BartPE cd (windows xp live cd)delete old Windows and rename Windows.0 to Windowsload registry (like avast regedit , there is a plugin for bartpe)and search and replace all occurence of Windows.0 and replace by Windows (regsitry crawler is perfect for that but it can't handle an offline registry if I remember)This method can worl great, but I think there are files which are search for windows.0 and not windows.Try & see !Goodluck. I thought about doing it this way but didn't know if there was a faster way. Like an app that does the registry renaming for you. Thanks for your reply,Computer-Pro Edited January 17, 2006 by Computer-Pro
