Nepali Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 i installed msn messenger in a fresh system.it created shortcut in my desktop and start menuwhen i tries to open msn messsenger by double clicking the shortcut on my desktop, my msn messenger 7.5.0322 works fine, it opens the main window.but if i click the shortcut for msn messenger from my startmenu,, it tries to install again from the begining..and after few minutes opens the main window.again if i click from startmenu,, it tries to install,,every time i click from start menu,, it tries to install,,what the problem.. only with msn messneger 7.5.0322thanks in advance
N1K Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 You probably have a shortcut in the start menu for this installation path. Try to remove this shortcut icon from the start menu and put the one from the desktop or change the path for it..
Shark007 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I've encountered this problem before.I think its caused by installing MSN Messenger from T-13/12/9Try setting it up to install thru runounceex and see if this corrects the problem.shark
Nepali Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 yeah.. it happned when i extract the installer pakage with the help of winrarand installed the application with this command:start "MSN Messenger 7 Final Install" /WAIT msiexec /i MSN\MsnMsgs.msi /q switch.. the shortcut in startmenu is not manually made.the shortcut in startmenu is automatically created,, so no question for pointing to installation path.sorry for my bad englishthanks
